After a year of tough competition from talented photo assistants around the world, each of whom got a chance at the ultimate prize of $10,000 in Profoto lighting gear, we had a tough job picking one among many outstanding entries. We present to you the top prize, and congratulate the Grand Prize winner Kaika Nakamura

Artist’s Bio
Living on the island of Hokkaido in Japan for the past twenty years, Kaika Nakamura credits its natural beauty and the kind, gentle nature of it's natives as being influential on his photography. Citing Guy Bourdin and Shoji Uchida as his favorite photographers, Nakamura's work often features the beauty of the female form.

Enjoying both film and digital technologies, Nakamura currently is shooting a Canon EOS 5D. Looking to create his own unique images while building his creativity and development, Nakamura explains, "Portrait, still life, landscape, food… I want to become a photographer who can work effectively in all genres."
