Willy Kenning is a self-taught photographer and civilian pilot. He has been a contributor to more than fifteen newspapers and magazines of Bolivia and has put together numerous individual photo collections shown in Bolivia, Argentina, the United States and other countries. Willy Kenning has been an author and an editor for the books "Santa Cruz - The other face of Bolivia" (two editions 1991-92); "Bolivia from the sky" (1993); and "Landscapes of Bolivia" (1995). He had also contributed to over a half-dozen of other books, between authoring books on the city of "La Paz" (1991); and the "Jesuit Mission of Chiquitos" (1995). More recently, Willy Kenning became the first Bolivian photographer to have his photographic work published in the National Geographic Magazine. The March 2000 issue contained an article on the Madidi National Park of Bolivia. The double page aerial photo of the El Bala Strait on the Beni River was his work. Willy Kenning was a founder and is a current member of the Friends of Nature Noel Kempff Foundation and of the Bolivian Society of Photography.
